In his revelatory work, the Commedia, Dante touches on but does not explicitly detail the scope and importance that music and specifically, song, has on the redemptive purgation of the soul. This work provides a more in depth investigation into the generally overlooked issue, that is, the origin and initial intent of song, the perversion of which, by whom and why, and Dante’s perception of the subject revealed in his missive to mankind. Along scientific theory, along with other works by Dante to provide a link between Lucifer, music, the sin of pride, and the corruption of the divine.

The sample includes 28 studies involving 3,794 middle and high school students. The treatment group was comprised of a total of 2,032 students, who received interventions led by a certified school counselor. The control/comparison groups were derived from a sample of 1,762 middle and high school students who did not receive the school counselor-led intervention. The meta-analysis included a diverse sample of students, with ethnicity reported as 589 (15.52%) African American, 52 (1.37%) Asian, 1,162 (30.63%) Hispanic, 1,267 (33.39%) Caucasian, 11 (0.28%) Native American, 21 (0.55%) Pacific Islander, and 177 (4.66%) Multi-racial/Other. Of the studies included in the meta-analysis, the ethnicities of 412 (18.86%) students were not reported. A total of 12 studies were conducted at the middle school level, 10 at the high school level, and 6 studies reported a mixed setting of Grades 6–12. The sample included almost equal representation of 1,883 (49.63%) males and 1,847 (48.68%) females, and the genders of 69 (1.82%) students were not reported. The overall unweighted Cohen’s d effect size (ES) of the school counselor-led interventions was .312 (95% CI [.173, .452]). The ES for overall cognitive outcomes (d = 0.380) was slightly larger than for overall effective role functions outcomes (d =0.377) and affective outcomes (d = 0.356). The smallest ES reported for overall variables was for behavioral outcomes (d = 0.228). The largest ES for a specific student outcome measure was found for standardized achievement test scores (d = 0.612) (Vernez & Zimmer, 2007). Moderator analyses were conducted and are explored in the results and discussion. The results address the current gap in school counseling outcome research by broadening future research directions for comprehensive school counseling programs (CSCP) to incorporate SEL initiatives aimed for middle and high school students.

The thesis objective was to determine the adequacy of understanding the average consumer had concerning the Automobile and Homeowner policies. Through the use of a mail survey questionnaire, five hundred consumers were asked to participate in the survey. From the survey response, various consumer profiles were developed relating to respondents' sex, marital status, age, education and income. Cross references were then made in identifying these particular groups with the kinds and amounts of coverages they had purchased and their answers to certain coverage questions. The results of the study indicated that although the respondent group had purchased coverages more in line with insurance industry recommendations and requirements, they nevertheless were not as knowledgeable about the subject as they should be.

It was concluded that such meetings improve the communications which is necessary among men and women of the same profession or trade. Western European hotels and convention facilities must improve to meet the standards of American association executives. Language barriers and distance are two barriers which are being overcome. There is evidence that continued progress will be made in resolving the technical barriers which have caused American associations to stay within the United States.

This was done by developing an understanding of what PPBS is and of how it has been applied in the Federal, state and local governments as well as in private industry. From what was learned in this review of PPBS, the characteristics and practices of PPBS seem most appropriate to the management needs of the American Rental Association, Inc., and it could be an effective management tool in other associations. This was shown by abstracting the key features from the system developed for the American Rental Association, Inc., and examining their applicability in other selected associations. The conclusion emerged that other associations can effectively use PPBS as an improved management tool.

Special attention was given to those contemporary tools which help make an effective manpower planning system. The developed system was tested using a comprehensive questionnaire to a selected cross-section of companies currently operating in this industry. Key findings of the questionnaire were discussed. It was anticipated that the study would form the basis of a Human Resources Planning System for use within Polysar Limited.

The marketing of health care products to the Federal Government is more unique due to the influence of the medical community, professional jealousy among Federal agencies and departments, and the varied types of health care delivery systems within the Federal Government. This study investigates the method, procedures, protocol and scope of those Federal agencies that procure health care products. It explores the role of associations in this marketing effort and also details legislative and regulatory efforts regarding this activity. Recommendations and conclusions are made regarding the most effective use of available methods of marketing, the probable outcome of pending legislation, the probable future of Federal Government procurement and its effect on the Federal Health Care market.

The procedure involved a questionnaire to two groups of fraternity alumni, one being a group of officers, while the other was sent to one thousand alumni members selected at random. Profiles of the two groups were developed on the basis of age, education, occupation, income level, service as a fraternity officer, participation in fraternity meetings and readership of the organization's journal. The report summarizes the financial giving habits of both groups to several areas within the fraternity and to the colleges where the members received their undergraduate degrees . The results are expected to prove helpful to executives of nonprofit organizations involved in the solicitation of financial contributions.

This model study reflects a possible solution or positive approach to this situation, in that most volunteer organizations would be interested in developing an evaluation system of members' performance in order to: 1. improve organizational structure for the purpose of increasing efficiency and effectiveness in achieving the organization's purpose; 2. identify future leaders for the purpose of insuring better preparation, training, exposure and broader experience prior to the assumption of top management positions; 3. create "career path opportunities" within the association for the purpose of keeping above average volunteer job performers in the "system," and at the same time demonstrate the upward mobility possible via promotion of the above average performers .

Show moreThe three specific objectives of this study were to develop a clearer understanding of the image which business has on the college campus, to develop insights into the attitudes of business students and a comparison of students in the business college with members of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity for male students enrolled in business. In order to base the response evaluations on a reasonably homogeneous group of subjects, only those colleges with chapters of the fraternity were considered. The research data was collected during the fall of 1972 from 1,000 questionnaires mailed to 13 selected colleges . Based on the comparative data obtained, it is possible to accept the major hypothesis that students in professional fraternal organizations are significantly different in their attitudes and personal characteristics than are students who do not belong to these organizations.
