Note(s): Weinbersterol disulfates A (1) and B (2), two new sulfated tetrahydroxy steroids with an unprecedented cyclopropane-containing side chain, were isolated from the sponge Petrosia weinbergi. Both compounds are active in vitro against feline leukemia virus, and 1 is also active in vitro against HIV. The structures of these two compounds were assigned mainly on the basis of spectral data.
