Note(s): This paper discusses the overall design of the tender system including the hyperbaric system, the stability control system, propulsion machinery, general arrangement and submersible crane. Criteria followed to allow for low cost submersible-ship operations are also described. The development of a hook system to eliminate the surface swimmer and a rescue launch for rescuing trapped submarines is also discussed.
