Note(s): Gammaridean amphipods, both epifaunal and infaunal, are a prominent and diverse constituent of the fauna found associated with eelgrass, Zoster a marina L., in temperate latitudes (Marsh, unpubl.; Thayer et al., 1975; Nelson, 1979a). The present paper describes the general biology of each of four common species of epifaunal amphipods found in eelgrass beds in the vicinity of Beaufort, North Carolina, U.S.A.
