Note(s): Aplysillin A [1], an unusual disulfate ester of a 1,4-diphenyl-1,3-butadiene, was isolated from a deep water specimen of a sponge of the genus Aplysina. Its structure was determined through spectroscopic methods. The compound weakly inhibited binding to the thrombin receptor with an IC50 value of 20 microM.
