Note(s): Shell microstructure of 30 specimens drawn randomly from some 250 specimens of Corbicula fiuminea collected at different seasons and from various habitats in southern Mississippi and ranging in size from 7 to 38 mm shell length, were closely scrutinized for possession of shell tubules. Exact details of collection times and sites can be found in Prezant and Tan Tiu (1986) and Tan Tiu (1987).
