Note(s): Perotrochus maureri, a new species of pleurotomariid, is described from the upper continental slope off northeastern Florida and the Carolinas. It can be distinguished from its sister species, Perotro chus amabilis (Bayer, 1963), and from the more remotely related P. atlanticus (Rios & Mathews, 1968) by its smaller, lower , more deeply pigmented shell with fewer spiral cords on the selenizone and shell base, as well as on the basis of its radular asymmetry and formula.
