Coryphaena , commonly known as the dolphin- fish, or mahimahi, is a pelagic fish with worldwide distribution in tropical and subtropical oceans. Its latitudinal range extends as far north as Nova Scotia, 45° N (Vladykov and McKenzi e, 1935) and as far south as the Cape of Good Hope, 35° S (Barnard, 1927). The dolphins belong to the monogeneric family Coryphaenidae and are most closely related to the Carangidae (jacks), order Perciformes. This manuscript may be cited as: Hagood, R. W. (1984).
