Note(s): Plakolide A (1), a new α-exomethylene-γ-lactone isolated from the marine sponge Plakortis sp., was found to inhibit inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) activity. The isolation, structure elucidation, and biological activity of plakolide A is described.
