Note(s): In 1976 and 1977 screened cages with sterile sand and an outside control area were sampled in replicate during March, April, May and June in a subtidal flat at Link Port, Florida (Buzas, 1978). In both years foraminiferal densities were significantly higher inside the screened cages than in the outside area. The higher densities were attributed to exclusion of predators from inside the cage.
