- This interview was conducted on the subject of Mrs. Isabelle B. Krome, 1884–1978, a long-time resident of Homestead, FL., and widow of Mr. William J. Krome, Chief Constructing Engineer on the Florida East Coast Railroad Key West Extension. The Kromes were married in 1910 and had four children together. Mr. Krome is well-known for his work on the railroad. As a couple, the Kromes were renowned for their work in horticulture, particularly in the development of avocadoes and mangoes. This interview attempts to provide a detailed background on Mrs. Krome, form those who knew her both personally and professionally. Also present at the interview were Mr. Glen Simmons, Dr. Laura Ogden and Ms. Katherine Fleming.
