| Note(s): | The purpose of this project was to demonstrate the need for public awareness of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. A five minute public service announcement was created to educate and create awareness of the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)/DNP role and education required to obtain the degree. Americans should be educated regarding their options available to access their health care concerns. More than 3,600 members of the Doctor of Nursing Practice.org website were invited to view the PSA and partake in the questionnaire. Of those members and anyone viewing the PSA from the YouTube.com website, the project yielded a total of 566 participants. Reliability and validity were maintained by using a published researcher’s previous tool created and implemented in an earlier study. Descriptive statistics were used to measure information provided from demographic data and questions from the research tool. | |
