Microarray deconvolution: a web application

Summary:
Microarray gene expression profiling is used in biology for a variety of purposes including identifying disease biomarkers or understanding cellular processes. Biological samples composed of multiple cell or tissue types pose a problem because different compositions of cell-types in samples affect the gene expression profile and also the expression profile of individual components of the sample may be of interest. Physical methods to separate mixed samples are time-consuming and expensive. Consequently, several computational methods have been developed to deconvolute heterogeneous samples into individual components. Different software packages and applications are available to perform these calculations. Microarray Deconvolution is a web application that provides a simple-to-use interface that fills some gaps left by other packages in performing heterogeneous sample microarray deconvolution including microarray raw data processing and normalization, cell-type proportion estimation and simple linear deconvolution.
