Address of a committee appointed by "the Federal members of the House of Representatives, and a number of persons from different parts of the state, met to consider the situation of public affairs."--page [2]. Signed on page 6: In behalf of the meeting, Jonathan Ingersoll, chairman. S. Sam. Smith, clerk of the meeting. Hartford, May 31st, 1803. Believed to have been written by Noah Webster, Jr. Cf. Skeel, E.E.F. A bibliography of the writings of Noah Webster, 1958, Appendix A, p. 523-524, no. 6, and Gaines, P.W. Political works of concealed authorship, 1972, p. 128. "The following is a list of persons agreed upon unanimously by the above-mentioned meeting, to be supported for the nomination, at the freemen's meeting on the 19th day of September next."--page 7. Title page vignette. FAU Libraries' copy appears to have been trimmed to 21 cm.
