Note(s): Dr. Leonard Berry discusses the path of his career as a teacher, geographer, and environmentalist. After receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees in geography at University of Bristol, England, Dr. Berry pursued a wide range of professional opportunities in Asia, Africa, and the United States. His work has included dry soil research in Sudan, the early development of the University of Dar es Salaam, and faculty positions at Clark University in Massachusetts and Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Environmental Studies. In addition, Dr. Berry also works with the World Bank, the Global Environmental Facility, and various other local and global environment issues.
